Quicken Essentials Released

On February 26, 2010, in Mac News,

After over 4 years of waiting for a new Mac version of Quicken, Intuit has released Quicken Essentials.

Here are a number of links discussing the new version:

MacWorld.com – After delays and criticism, Intuit releases Quicken Essentials for Mac

My personal experience… I requested a refund and did receive it. Quicken Essentials for Mac is, well, way too time consuming to enter data. With prior versions, I could speed through data entry by tabbing and entering a letter or two, but in QE one must pick through a mess of tags for many fields.

The “cloud” startup and import are interesting… but I really wish the developers would have actually tried to use QE and enter a years worth of data. It would have been a different program if they had.
