Using Skype and iChat for chatting and getting help from other users.


Skype.com – Download Skype for Mac OS X – it’s free!

Requirements:

  • Mac computer with G4, G5 or Intel processor, 800 MHz or faster.
  • Mac OS X v10.3.9 (Panther) or newer.

Download Skype, put it into your Applications folder, and launch by double clicking. Create a new account following the instructions.


iChat – it’s already on your computer!

Requirements:

  • MobileMe, AIM (AOL), Google Talk, or Facebook (Jabber) account
  • Leopard or Snow Leopard for Screen Sharing

Setup Help: Mac 101: iChat
Create an iChat ID: Apple : My Info
Helpful information (Apple Discussions): Apple – Support – Discussions – .mac account …
Create an AIM account (use Firefox!): AIM
