For those who are not Comcast customers, you can download the Free ClamXav.
You should be prepared for future issues. It may not be necessary to run in auto / full time protection mode since the Mac issues are extremely rare.
This was reported today on MacInTouch.com. I have copied it as this is on the front page now, but will be pushed down into their archives as the days go by.
I would not download any free or shareware applications from the sites mentioned until this is totally resolved. I have asked for a statement from MacUpdate.com as they were named specifically (also named were VersionTracker.com and SoftPedia.com).
I will try to keep everyone up to date on this issue.
